before my son was born, i knew i wanted to use cloth diapers but i knew nothing else about them. joanne at zannadu was super helpful with all of my questions. she explained to me the difference between all-in-ones and pre-folds, how to wash them, and guided me to websites with info on folding, etc. she even offers free workshops in newton for people who are new to cloth diapering and need hands on advice (i.e., how many will you need, washing tips, covers, leaks, folds, etc.).
i really believe that cloth is the best choice if you're in any way able to do it. they are better for the babies skin, (harlan only gets a diaper rash when we use the occasional huggies) no chemical gels to contend with, and they are much better for the environment. don't be fooled by people who claim that they cause just as much damage as disposables because of the energy needed to clean them, it's simply not true.
