If you are looking for a gym or exercise classes look a bit further before you plunge into a YMCA membership. The customer service is poor and orientation was absent. In addition, the weight/ cardio room is too crammed for my liking.

I am appalled at the fact that the children's swim class criteria was changed without notifying the parents and YMCA community. My daughter and I had no idea that she was being put in a level that is beyond her capabilities from what we knew of this class last session. She almost drowned today under the watch of a disinterested, teenage instructor who had no place being in this position of authority with such young children. I place the blame for this incident and further problems with the swim program on the enormous lap of the new aquatic director.

Lots of classes for toddlers and older kids. Mom can excercise while kids a playing and being watched by the Y stuff.

On-site daycare free to members, but with odd hours including a significant mid-day gap. If you join a gym so that you can swim, look somewhere else as the availability of the swimming pool for "adult lap swim" is limited to a few randomly spaced hours per week, and if it doesn't fit your schedule, too bad. The swimming pool hours also change seasonally, making it even more difficult to use the pool as part of your regular routine. Lots of free class workouts and some additional specialty classes such as yoga and martial arts for an additional fee. Kids' programs for additional fee. Circuit room and workout room poorly ventilated and often unbearably smelly during peak use. Friendly staff, nice neighborhood feeling. New construction being planned.
