The staff that works here is horrible they yell at the kids all day sometimes they even push the children. I have brought this to the attention of the director and nothing is done about it she favors the teachers that do these things to the children. Your children truly aren't safe here,the staff and the director will lie to you about your child's day. There is times that a teacher will have up to 10 toddlers alone and the ratio is one to five it creates a unsafe environment for the children. Kw the director has no idea how to run the center. Any parent that truly care's about there children and there well being will not send there child to any tender care learning center. I am looking for a new job I do not to work for such a horrible company anymore.

I have to repeat the points in Concerned Employee's review. I worked in the Older Toddler room for 5 months, and eventually left after reporting the facility to the Department of Public Welfare for overcrowding violations. The facility was inspected after I reported it, but I left before I found out whether any changes were made.
The teachers do the best they can, but the facility director, KW, is very dishonest when talking to parents about what their children do all day. She also has violated the facility rules for parents by bringing her own children in while ill, including bringing her daughter in with a suspected case of pink eye.
Children are shuffled from room to room in order to maintain room quotas, which upsets them and makes them very insecure because they are often put in rooms with teachers and children they don't know.
KW's quote when I reported the overcrowding violation to her (before I reported it to the state): "It's not like children are getting hurt."
Yet.
Avoid this center like the plague that's always passing from kid to kid here.

I am currently an employee at the Shadyside Tendercare. I am writing this on here because I will be quitting soon, like many of my fellow co-workers. The conditions here are TERRIBLE to put your kids into, considering the price you have to pay. The child:teacher ratio is always very poor, and is well into the illegal range. The manager is lazy, and depends on the teachers to pick up her slack, which is enormous. She lies to parents, so the parents pay her lots of money. There is no education for the children being provided in any way, which I belive isnt the teachers fault due to the amount of children they have to take care of at any given time. The teachers are wonderful people with very caring herts, but are overworked, disgruntled, and not the best for any child, especially for the enormous cost of the care. DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN HERE!!!! You may not see the effects immediately, but there is nothing promising about 4 yr olds who do not know the alphabet.
