quote*****_FZ: Having a doula at the birth of our first son was so wonderful. I was excited but very nervous about giving birth. Our doula was such an amazing person. She helped me get through my labor pains as long as possible without an epidural. When I was ready for one, she was supportive of my decision. She had great suggestions for different positions or things to do when I was having a painful contraction to make it less painful whether it was switching positions or a breathing technique. These things can't be taught in a childbirth class. By having her in the labor and delivery room she helped speed my labor along and minimized my discomfort. Her presence kept my husband calm too!

this is better than taking a class. I learned so much and it was fun. My doula helped my husband and I really enjoy the birth of our daughter, I wont birth without one!

I personally had a bad experience with them simply because my doula was very unprofessional and did not follow through after the birth of my son.
