Great for toddlers; shady in summer

This is a very small, friendly park with lots of shade. The equipment is pretty good, but the kids get bored of it by the time they are two and a half or so. This is a great park for babies and toddlers.

Tot lot is a fun place for kids up to 4 or 5 years old. There is a sand area, swings (baby and regular), slides, a jungle gym, benches, and 2 picnic tables. The park is very shady which is great for hot summer days. On the downside it can be very buggy on those same hot summer days; bug repellent is a must.

Two great parks in the town of Surfside. The one at 96th is bigger with a huge soccer/baseball field, basketball courts and a handball wall. A toddler section, as well as an older kids section. Overhang and plenty of benches in the shade. Bathrooms. The park at 89th street is shady and quaint. More geared towards babies and toddlers, no bathrooms. Great sandbox.
