We love it, they take the time to really make sure the shoes fit. The shoes also last a long time and are worht the money!

About 90% of my sons' shoes are from stride rite. My oldest had not only wide, but extra wide feet and Stride Rite shoes were the only ones that I found that came in extra wide. I personally like to shop at the Stride Rite outlet at Aurora Farms---the prices are way reduced and much more reasonable, and the often have buy one get one 1/2 off, which is great now that I have 2 little sets of feet to buy for. I like their selections, as well.

I thought long and hard about getting my kids first shoes here since it's seems "the norm". I decided to discuss it with my pediatrician..and much to my surprise, she don't even buy her kids shoes there. She said they are a waste of money that my kids were just as well to get good fitting shoes at Walmart or Payless for a fraction of the cost. She thought the only reason to go there was if your children had foot issues (flat feet, something like that). All kids learning to walk really need is a good flexible sole and arch support, I can get that for less than $20, and not pay $50.

i know it's a tradition for every tot to get their firsr shoe fitted and bought here.... why wouldn't it be? the staff can answer any questions you have. they do cost a little more but the shoes fit like gloves, thus no foot probs for baby:)

These shoes really are the best for their little feet. Not always the most stylish, but not what is the top priority at this point in their lives. The selection is decent and they have wide shoes for kids with wide feet.
