I delivered at St. Mary's in 2007. I highly recommend taking their birthing class with Sandra Hudson. She is a registered Doula and an amazing nurse. I was lucky enough to go into labor as soon as her shift started and her by my side the entire time. I had a great stay while at the hospital. There was one nurse at the beginning of my labor that was very young and rude. Luckly, I only had her for about an hour and then Michelle came on duty and was with me until I was dialated. I had a very long and difficult labor and the team at St. Mary's was amazing. Michelle had been with me all night and then missed the delivery but came to check on me and see the baby the next night. All of the nurse's from triage to post partum were amazing. They were there to do whatever you needed. They have a lactation specialist who came around, discussed breastfeeding, techniques, and even helped to position the baby. She went over pumps, different accessories you may need for breastfeeding, everything really. The staff was very considerate of my birth plan and stuck to it as well as possible. During my delivery, there were a few complications in which the Dr. addressed, discussed different options to solve the problem and was very compassionate about what she was doing and how myself and the baby were. I would highly recommend this hospital to everyone. The security on the nursery floor is great, the food is surprisingly good for hospitals and you can order whatever you want. I had 18 1/2 hours of labor and was starving by the time i delivered. Once out of the delivery room, they ordered me some breakfast and made sure everything was great for myself, lily, and my family. They made sure I was in a private room and although there was a slight wait to get it, they made sure that I had it. I can't stress how pleased I am with the experience from St. Mary's.

I delivered there in 2006. I had some unpleasant nurses in the triage area, but most of the nurses later were good, except one overnight who insisted that my baby was starving and we had to give her formula (against my birth plan)...I was exhausted and gave in.....Otherwise, staff was very respectful of my birth plan, but I had zero support with labor. Beds are terrible (at least in the postpartum rooms, can't remember before that)...air mattresses with a pump that makes noise every time you move. The food was inedible except for sandwiches and prepackaged food...even the toast was horrible, and I was starving. The day after delivery I had a constant parade of staff in my room, often lined up at the door, including a student nurse that was in there every 30 minutes asking me ridiculous questions and trying to take my vitals. (I know they need to learn but my labor was 65 hours and I needed my rest)

I have had wonderful experiences at St. Mary's. All the staff is wonderful. Even the food was tasty!

I had my baby at St. Mary's and they had a staff member come up and show me how to use it and arranged for me to take it home when I left the hospital. They will answer absolutely any questions you have on breastfeeding and the price was one of the lowest I found. Highly recommend.
