Special Beginnings is outstanding! The staff, midwives, Flossie.... you name it...they are wonderful! We have received care from SB for all three of our births. We had our first at Anne Arundel with the midwives and then the other two at the birth center. Our children were able to be there with us at the birth center, watch their brother being born, and then we all went home as a family a few hours later. I couldn't have asked for better care.

I have never felt so comfortable like Flossie made me feel! She really helped me feel I could have success in my nursing relationship. She is also not afraid to tell it like it is when it comes to nursing...

Flossie has been at Special Beginnings since the beginning, I think. She's very knowledgable and very helpful. They also have a great BFing store on site where you can buy products.

Special Beginnings is about to celebrate their 10 year anniversary in May 2007 and have never closed.
I switched from an OB to Special Beginnings midway through my first pregnancy and the difference between their practice and my OB was night and day. Each appointment is about 30 minutes and you feel like you are talking to a friend. Although I was unable to give birth at the birthing center with my son, both midwives stayed with me throughout the entire delivery process and surgery. I was checked on daily at the hospital during recovery and I truly could not wait to go back.
Now that I'm pregnant again, I'm so excited to try for a VBAC and have Special Beginnings help me all the way. Every midwife that works there is fantastic.
