I am actually a PET sitter,with my own business. I joined Sittercity, as they offer to find me people/families who could use my service. First, I ahd to call over and over as, instead of sending me Pet Parents, they sent me Pet Sitters like myself ... my conpetition. Took 3 calls to straighten it out, after being yelled at and hung up on by Kim and ignored by a manager, Dan. next, they advertise that you will get leads daily. I understand if there is nothing new, but they send the same ones over and over. I called and Brenda said there is nothing they can do. so, those wonderful daily leads ... I got one daily, for 13 days. I ahve sent 26 emails to different people I found in the search list, but no one has returned a call. Come to find out, if they are in the trial phase, they don't get my replies! Why on earth are they allowed to advertise if I am replying to someone who won't get my info??????? And they want ME to join? Sittercity has been of no use to my business.

A good, relatively low cost way to find sitters. Most are college students.

I wanted to love sittercity - the concept is perfect. However, most sitters listed do not call you back. It is still a difficult task to find someone even with the service. I thought word of mouth worked better in the long run.

I loved the idea! Not the fact I had to pay for the service PLUS pay for the sitter. Didn't always get a great response. It is a great idea but hasn't worked out as good as it sounds.
