The Arizona State Board of Nursing will discuss whether to seek disciplinary action against two Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn workers found guilty of failing to report an alleged sexual assault on a patient in a timely manner. Tom Sadvary should take the walk of shame!
3 hospital workers sentenced in late reporting
Sue Livengood, associate executive vice president of Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn, and Shelly VanVianen, a registered nurse, each were sentenced on the misdemeanor offense in Scottsdale City Court on Wednesday to three years’ probation and fines of $1,836 and $1,408, respectively. They were also required to perform community service, and Livengood was also sentenced to one day in jail.
State law requires health care workers to immediately report alleged sexual assaults of hospital patients to the state Adult Protective Services and then submit a written report within 48 hours.
A 23-year-old female heart patient conveyed to her speech therapist on Dec. 12 that she was sexually assaulted on Nov. 17 by a man she suspected was a hospital worker.
The hospital launched an internal investigation and did not inform police about the allegation until Jan. 14.
The woman was shown about 70 pictures of hospital workers, but did not identify any of them as her assailant. Police decided in May that the allegation was unfounded, and they ended their investigation.
The Arizona State Board of Nursing’s board of directors will discuss Livengood’s and VanVianen’s infractions during its meeting Nov. 19-20, according to Joey Ridenour, executive director of the state board.
Disciplinary actions against Livengood and VanVianen could include censure, probation or revocation of their nursing licenses, Ridenour said.
Dr. Patricia Crellin, a consulting psychiatrist for the hospital, was also sentenced to three years’ probation, fined $948, and will have to perform 100 hours of community service for failing to report the alleged sexual assault in a timely manner.
The Arizona Medical Board, which reviews infractions against psychiatrists, investigates the findings of anyone convicted of a crime, whether it is a felony or misdemeanor, to determine whether it will take any action against them — a four- to six-month process, according to Roger Downey, spokesman for the state medical board.
The Arizona Medical Board’s next meeting will be Dec. 3-4, Downey said.
The Scottsdale Healthcare workers have declined to comment in the case. An attorney for the hospital said last week they are planning an appeal

I would like to take the time to share with you my views on this health care system. If you are thinking about becoming an employee WARNING TO YOU. Scottsdale Healthcare is not a place you would even want to consider ! Just check with the EEOC and see the list of complaints and settlements made on behalf of former employees.
From racism, hostile work environments and unfavorable working conditions this place is off the hook. Being a patent here may not be a very good idea either log into fox phoenix news and type in Scottsdale Healthcare Hospital Rape. A woman was raped in the hospital at Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn, the rape wasn't reported to police for almost a month while hospital officials attempted a mass cover up. Outcome was that employees were charged criminally and convictions were handed down by the court. Hospital Security taunted an unstable man who returned and fired rounds in the hospital with a shotgun injuring one person. This facility in my opinion is not only unsafe and a hostile place to work it is loaded with corruption. you can go to my3cents.com and read horror stories about shady billing practices and CitySearch and read about mass discrimination of minority employees.
So if your thinking about becoming a patient or an employee I would think twice about Scottsdale Healthcare as in my opinion it is truly a rip off and not a good place to be. Trust me I know first hand I use to work there.

The tour was nice, but made triage look a little impersonal. I had to visit triage before going into labor when I was sick and needed iv fluids. The staff got really busy really fast, but they handled it well. They made me comfortable and I am not nervous about delivering there. I hear Shea is like a baby factory- Osborn is smaller and more personal. They also offer great classes. My husband is taking daddy boot camp and I am taking a breastfeeding class.

Disgruntled much? After working @ Scottsdale Healthcare You Bet
Disgruntled you bet ! Now let me explain where the rip off is, How would you like to be a black man and walk into your place of work and see a sign that say's KOON ASS CLUB ? when you report it to supervisors, HR and MR. Sadvary who claims to have an open door policy nothing is done about it or the racial slurs made by your bosses. I would say that's an absolute rip off ! Now how about the guy who was called fagit, queer, kike, stupid Jew, and was tortured every day he came to work. How about the director of the department doing nothing? Think that's not a rip off ? How about the woman who was ridiculed every day and told by co-workers she couldn't do the job because she was a female? I could go on and on anyone who wants to verify all of this just call the EEOC office in Phoenix. Here is the ultimate rip off, most of these people were forced to leave their jobs, loose their health insurance , incomes and most of all a hell of a lot of their pride ! Disgruntled you bet ! Ripped off absolutely! A lot of these people collected settlements from the EEOC others like me just decided that we would blog every time we get the chance to make potential employees, patients and others about how bad this place promotes, condones and accepts racism. I decided not to sue and even tried to settle my claim with the hospital so I would not have to defend my sexuality of being straight but being called gay,fag queer, homo. I think most of us have decided to expose this origination for what it really is. I think years and years of bloging and posting is much better than a cash settlement and will war people about this place.
