The new carousel is so much fun for the kids and it's right next to the library and museum. What a great day! Lots of places to play and picnic.

Beautiful park with well-maintained walking paths and wooded areas. Schenley also has great and affordable picnic pavillions (from free to around $200 through Pittsburgh Park Services), which are great for summer birthdays and family reunions. Enjoy the ice skating rink in the winter, and Schenley pool in the summer.

What I love most about Schenley Park is our ability to take our baby and two dogs to the park, lay down a blanket and have a large area all to ourselves so we can let our crazy dogs run on 50 foot leads without bothering anyone else. The park is just huge and offers so much space that it's easy to do this. Shady spots, sunny spots, playground spots, ice skating, pool, and conservatory, Schenley Park really does have it all. It's a great Sunday afternoon outing for us, and best of all, it's free fun!
