My wife and I delivered at SRRMC at the Family Birthing Center and appreciated the care and support the doctors and especially the nurses gave us. The nurses are on 12 hours shifts so depending on when you stay, you may get as many as 2 different nurses each day. We were generally very happy with the nursing staff who helped us get some rest, start our baby attempting to breast feed, and just giving us a break by taking care of our little one so we could get some rest. A few nurses didn't seem as pleasant of a bedside manner as most, but they were the exception not the rule. You deliver and recover in the same private room. There is a pull out cot for the husband so he can stay overnight as well (I really appreciated that). And the baby stays with you as long as you want (if you get tired, the nurses will take the baby to the nursury until it's time for feeding).

I had my baby at San Ramon Regional and couldn't be happier. The breastfeeding resourse center is full of helpful information while you are in the hospital and after you get out. I bought a number of things like maternity bras, breastpads, cream, breastfeeding stool and the staff was helpful, courteous and knowledgeable.
