A great place for little ones. Check out the Miss Frizzle "lectures" on weekends. They're free with admission and while often over the top, they are big with the kids. Especially 4-7 year olds.

Kids love looking at the dead animals here, and they've got some live ones, too-- a rattlesnake, scorpion, and tarantula. There's a permanent fossils exhibit where you can excavate. A few dinosaur skeletons here. There's always a couple of traveling exhibits. The Magic Schoolbus does a class here occasionally, and they have different classes and excursions for families. Go on a free Tuesday if you don't mind crowds.

Not very interesting for small children. Very much a traditional museum and not a lot of hands-on exhibits.

As natural history museums go, this is not a very good one. The exhibits I've seen were disorganized and lacked appeal.
