QuoteWhen my son was born 2 1/2 years ago he was 4 weeks early and I hadn't yet had a chance to do comprehensive research on the pediatrician I wanted to use. I chose Pullman & Ariza because they were on the recommended list from my ObGyn and on the Washingtonian Top Doctors list. Over the past couple years I have only seen Pullman once and Ariza once and I didn't like either of their bed side manners. They were rough with my then-baby, Pullman once walked out of the room while I was still asking her questions, and while we were away on vacation and my son had a very high fever, I called the emergency line and it took me calling back three times to get the dr. to call me. As far as the nursing staff goes, there are a couple bright spots, but for the most part, my son now cries when the curse comes in the room - the nurse - not the doctor. One of them even mocked him for crying when he was getting a shot. And he had to have blood drawn and she didn't insert the butterfly needle correctly and had to do it three or four times. I finally told her it was enough and that we would have to wait. I hesitate to mention this because it happened to my friend and not me, but it just sums up how unprofessional this office has become. My friend wanted her child to get three separate shots for the MMR vaccine. She traversed all over the city to get the individual shots. She brought them into the office to be administered, and for whatever reason, they ended up giving her child the regular one with all three together. My friend was beyond annoyed to say the least. She in no longer there. I really like Dr. Valois and that is who we have been seeing most of the time, but she is no longer there. The nurse practitioners are great, but you want the experience and expanded knowledge of a doctor you like and trust behind them.

QuoteI would like to say that I have been with Pullman and Ariza since the birth of my daughter. The first three years were great and wonderful. They cared about my daughter and followed up regularly. when she was four is when I noticed a difference in staff and the personal touch was going out the window and it seemed all about money. they charged me for a hearing test and my daughter never got one. The staff no people skills. No I take that back Jackie great staff. She left to have a baby and has now returned.

QuoteWe have had very good experiences with both Pullman and Valois. We had an informative pre-natal appt with Dr. Pullman during which she happily answered all our questions including questions about immunizations. We also interacted with Dr. Pullman several times in the hospital because of jaundice issues. We were pleased with those interactions. We've spent more time with Dr. Valois since our daughter was born in Sept 08. We have found her to be extremely personable and informative and we have been really pleased with the way she has handled our daughter -- and us. We have also had very good interactions with Nurse Sue. Based on our experiences thus far, we'd certainly recommend the practice.

QuoteI have learned the hard way that although you should pick real estate based on "Location Location Location" the same is NOT true for pediatric practices. I wish this practice were great, because it is 2 block walk from my house. However, the clinic is dirty. (I rubbed an alcohol swab across a surface and it came off black with dirt). The waits are terribly long, and the doctors seem to "attack" you for your questions - like splitting up vaccinations. Am considering driving to Virginia instead...

QuoteI waited for several months to join the practice, after a recommendation. We saw Ariza first and thought she was ok, although her handling of my baby was on the rough side. Pullman, was terrible. Seriously bad. Obnoxious and very rough with my boy. She really hurt him, and then tried to pass it off as normal. We've since gone back to our other ped and realise that though the office might be older, at least they treat their patients with respect and care. Please avoid this practice. For your kids sake.
