I've had terrible luck with Payless, and now go to higher end stores to get my kids' feet fitted properly. There really is an art to fitting kids properly, from knowing what sizes run large/small or narrow/wide, to suggesting a proper size. Given that Payless is a national chain, you just can't expect that from here. However, some associates have been as helpful as they could with us, but they just don't carry wide sizes to speak of. So, it's always a gamble of...should I see if blisters develop with this style or not? They do carry reasonably-priced dancewear and some stores carry a surprising amount of accessories with great sales. However, the cutest styles are never available in my daughters' (preschooler) sizes, and forget finding wide widths - unless the planets are in perfect alignment. It's my humble opinion that the quality of most styles of shoes are not on par with the slightly-too-high prices.
