My son and I had a great first time with them. The staff was really friendly. I was able to get a trim at the same time that my son got his first haircut. Pricing for me at least was a bit high for my son was $20 and for me was $35 they said that was for the shampoo, cut and style. That was a bit steep for me but it was worth the experience with my son.

I have a 7 year old daughter and 2 year old boy. They both been going to Over The Rainbow since they were 1 year old. Staff are very friendly and the environment feels like you're at home. My daughter loves her haircut every time she goes there. I can see from her face that she's really enjoying the haircut. Both of their first haircut experience was great. They have toys to keep them busy while getting their haircut so they don't even notice. They have arcade games for older kids and dads like me :) while waiting.
Over all experience, I would give it a two thumbs up.

We had a gift certificate, so I do not know about pricing being right or too high. The staff were very friendly and the place was very kid friendly. I took my daughter for her first haircut at age one, and not only she had fun playing with their toys and was basically oblivious to her hair being cut, but she came out with a great haircut. Next, they gave us a fist haircut certificate and balloons, and took and gave us a polaroid picture with her certificate and balloons too. Very cute!

i did not like Over the Rainbow. first, the staff was not very welcoming, the first thing they asked was if i had cash. Second, i noticed that there specialty is girls hair not boys. They messed up my sons hair and did not leave it the way i had asked even thought i was very detailed in what i wanted. Last, they didn't even bother to clean off the cut hairs they left on my son, and handed me a squeegee to do it myself.

More than I wanted to spend on a haircut ($10 for bangs $8 for trim ?!?), but I had a good experience having my daughter's 1st haircut. (Free pic, lock of hair, 1st haircut certificate). Knowledgable staff, small play area (including free video games). My reluctant daughter felt comfortable there.
