When I had my daughter in December 2006 and went on a maternity leave from my teaching job, I discovered that, while I loved being at home with her, we both needed to get out and meet people! I longed for a social network with other mothers and their children. I looked into joining a Moms club, however, most of the traditional Moms clubs tend to be geared towards full-time mothers and are open only to residents of certain school districts. I plan to return to work and do not reside in a school district that has a moms club. Moxie Moms was the perfect fit for me! My daughter and I have met so many friendly people from the tricounty area and are able to attend various activities each week such as walks/hikes in local parks, pool dates, picnics, book club, playgroups, breakfast/lunch/ice cream dates, outdoor concerts, even BBQs for the whole family! I love the online calendar of events; I feel like I am always "in the loop." An added perk of membership is the discounted products and services offered by local businesses and vendors. In short, Moxie Moms fits my varied interests and offers a plethora of opportunities for socializing and having fun!

In the beginning I found being a Mom a lot more challenging than I had expected. I started realizing that life is a lot easier and more fun when you have a network of other Moms you can talk to and spend time with. I love that Moxie Moms allows for a
large variety of activities to suit different interests and time schedules. You really have the freedom to choose what you would like to participate in and when. Most other moms groups focus on one theme. For example, a book club, a play group, a class. I really like that Moxie incorporates them all!

When I got pregnant I had no idea how difficult it was going to be to meet other stay at home moms like myself. Thankfully shortly after my daughter was born I discovered Moxie Moms. Since joining this great group of moms just like me I have made a lot of new friends in my area. Almost every day my daughter and I go for walks with other moms and babies or just meet at parks to play! It's great for both of us. I can picture my daughter growing up and staying friends with a lot of the little ones we have met! I would highly recommend Moxie Moms to other moms!

As a new mom AND living in an area where I was not originally from, I searched and searched for some way to meet new moms like myself. I tried playgoups and the "old-fashioned mom's clubs" but none of these met "my expectations" and needs.
One morning, I was listening to the 10 Show on NBC in Philly, and heard them interviewing an Area Manager for a chapter of Moxie Moms. I was intrigued because this was an online community for local moms to get together while having fun and getting fit! Not only was this (what I like to call it) the next generation of mom's groupts, but Moxie also partners with local businesses. They promote these businesses to the moms and in return, the businesses give a discount the Moxie members.
So I wanted to join and searched online for a local Moxie Chapter ... I did not find one initially ... so I decided, "What the heck, I'll start one!"
This has been the best decision I have made since being a mommy!!! I love everyone I've met and I have done so many wonderful activities with the Moxie Moms. It definitely takes "moxie" to be an awesome mom :-)
