So, out of all of the hospitals in Saint Louis, this one is the most Natural Birth friendly. I had a pretty good experience with them, but they were a bit high strung and worried about letting me labor naturally. They didn't key me into their anxiety, but let my doctor know multiple times. They stayed true to my birth plan and for that I am soooo thankful!

Well, if anyone could rate the services of Missouri-Baptist for Maternal Care I would say I would be a good example considering I spent 23 hours in delivery! I went in on a Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. for my first pregnancy for a scheduled induction and didn't leave the room till 2:00 p.m. the following THursday. I had my daughter without a cesarian at 11:50 a.m. All the nurses were exceptional and very caring, positive and understanding. The nurse who helped me from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. was great and I don't know how I would have made it thru without her excellent bedside manner. The nurse who delivered me was very positive and got me focused after a very, very long and frustrating night. I was happy with my post-delivery care as well and thought the lactation consultants were excellent. In addition the nurses took our daughter to the nursery the first night since we hadn't slept in 36 hours and didn't bring her back in the middle of the night because they knew we needed sleep! We ended up asking for her early in the morning but appreciated the thoughtfulness. Many of the nurses took a lot of time to talk to me about parenting and life in general while I was recovering. Very impressed and will hopefully deliver here again in the future!

Mo Bap was a great place to have my son. However we had problems with the day nurses forcing supplementing on me when I was just learning to breastfeed. They refused to help me learn. After asking repeatedly for a lactation consultant, she showed up right when they wheeled my son for an echocardiogram. She said she was leaving in thirty minutes so she wouldn't be able to help me. The day nurses also ganged up by telling each other as their shifts changed that I needed to supplement and not breastfeed. Thank goodness for the night nurses who ignored this "advice" and took time to make sure I knew how to breastfeed. My son is now a thriving three month old who is still exclusively breastfeeding.

I liked MoBap because the delivery rooms were nice, and all the nurses were helpful for the most part-but the lactation consultant was awful. She had very little time for me and few suggestions to help me with my concerns, even when I went back for an appointment when DS was a month old and paid for her services. She basically confirmed my concerns but offered no solutions. What a waste of money.

I loved my lactation consultants! They were so helpful and very knowledgeable and patient.
