We love the MN Zoo in Apple Valley--there have been a lot of improvements recently and both new and old features are great. If you are just an occasional visitor and a member of the Hennepin County Library, try checking out passes to the zoo! Concessions are mediocre and expensive, so bring some snacks along or pack a picnic.

We have a family pass becuase we go there so often, Love the animals and the NEw exhibits are amazing.

We love the zoo, but this one you seem to walk forever to see very few animals.

My 2 year old son would go to the zoo every day if he could! We have a membership and it pays for itself by the 2nd visit. It also means it's okay to leave after an hour if your child is crabby, hungry, tired or anything. The new exhibit Russia's Grizzly Coast is amazing and you can see the improvements in the zoo just leading up to the area. A terrific place to spend a morning/day

Living in MN it is nice to have something to do all year long. As a member it is wonderful to be able to go as often as you like and not feel as thoguh you need to see EVERYTHING in one day. We buy the membership that is the household plus one so that grandma or a aunt can come wtih and then they are free also. It really is a fun place and my son has learned a lot by going there.
