QuoteWe went on a special $5 entry fee night this summer and enjoyed outdoor music and the museum. They have great activities to keep the kids entertained while the parents learn something too! Fabulous view of the sunset over the Mississippi.

QuoteWe have gone numerous times, whenever free passes through the Hennipen County Library are available. It never gets boring...new things to do each time we are there. Great for all ages - the grandparents loved it.

QuoteInitially, I thought the kids might get bored at this museum. Once we arrived, however, I found the opposite to be true. There are plenty of hands-on activities for young ones - a replication of the river (they get to play in the water), a small train to play with and a big one to go in, a giant floor puzzle, and a felt board "make your own cereal box" area. Not to mention the kitchen area which is always offering samples of warm baked goods.

QuoteFree to members of the Historical Society (others pay an entrance fee), this small museum showcases the history of the flour milling industry and, surprisingly, was quite interesting for my young kids. There are a number of hands-on activities, including playing with bread dough and pushing pretend logs through moving water, and your admission includes a very unique and interesting interactive ride on an elevator (with seats) that ultimately takes you up high for a beautiful panoramic view of the adjacent Mississippi River and downtown Minneapolis. One word of caution, however, the interactive elevator ride may be frightening for very young or for sensitive kids.
