The baby basics class was helpful but I suggest taking close to your due date. The lamaze series with the hospital tour is helpful not only to educate you but to meet other families.

While I wasn't thrilled with the Lamaze class that I took at Magee, I was very happy with a class I took post-childbirth called "Life with Baby". It was a great way to start meeting other moms, and to feel comfortable taking my infant daughter out into the world (knowing that the other moms there would understand if my daughter started crying!). The class topics were relevant and interesting.

I loved Magee and I didn't think I would. So many people told me it was a "baby factory" and I wouldn't get any attention but that's not my experience. My husband and I took several prenatal classes there. I found the staff to be very caring and helpful, inclduing the cafeteria staff member who went out of her way to get me a cherry popsicle as my first real food after three days on an IV.

I took several classes here. They were very informative. Great place to have a baby.
