I initially thought I was getting good information, but the lactation specialists at Magee told me I should take Fenugreek (an herb) to stimulate greater milk production, and I read later in a reputable magazine that people should stay away from Fenugreek because it has never been studied for safety. I thought lactation consultants working for the region's premier women's hospital would provide better information than that.

What a baby factory and so miserable at encouraging natural birth and breastfeeding. I ended up with a c-section and nearly gave up on breastfeeding -- I would have much rather gone to West Penn. The post-partum nurses were miserable people.

Even though I didn't deliver here the lactation consultants were very kind and answered all of my questions.

I was able to rent a pump directly at the hospital and be billed on a weekly basis until I returned it. It was a 'hospital' grade pump and my nurse showed me how to use it. I liked the convenience of being able to take it home with my baby!

Not the easiest people to get on the phone, but helpful once you do. I wish they weren't in the hospital, as I never wanted to take my newborn there. I had to send my husband to get my pump replacement parts, but they always had what I needed.
