I love the selection at this store. They have the biggest petites dept and more shoes than DSW. The only drawback is that to get into the store you have to wade through a sea of people. Don't even try to use a bathroom because you won't get in. You could walk to Penn station faster.
The kid's section has beautiful things you just won't find at other department stores.

We go to Macy's at Herald Square once or twice a year. While it usually is crowded, we have been able to get some good deals here on children's clothing. We picked up a really nice camaflouge heavy fall jacket for my son at this Macy's for less then thirty dollars. He loves this jacket, he'd still be wearing it daily if it wasn't so cold out! The children like taking the escalators in this Macy's! Everyone should check out this great famous Macy's at least once!

Macy's is ok but not if you are with your kids. It is mobbed w/ tourists and you can never seem to find anyone to help you.

Not one of my favorites. If you happen to be stuck in Herald square I guess go ahead but, it is so huge and you can never find anyone who works there. Also the escalator and elevators are really tempermental and not located near the kids' dept. I also think it is gross that there is a McDonald's in the middle of the children's section all the layette smells like fries.

OK kid's department. Really liked their Pea in the Pod when I was expecting. Good sales.
