I wish I had read this message board before going. The staff was really phoning it in, barely communicating with me or the 4-year-old, didn't follow the simple direction I had (about shoulder length) and the decor just wasn't all that fun/creative etc. Good thing she and the other kids there all liked Thomas and could all see it. If I didn't have to suddenly leave in a hurry I would have stuck around and made them fix up her hair. Real disappointing

I don't understand the negative reviews. Granted, the staff are not always friendly, but I think it's a stretch to say they're rude. Ruth gives great haircuts. My daughter has abundant, curly hair, and Ruth always manage to give it a lovely shape. I wish my stylist did as well with mine! For those who think $15 is too much for a haircut just because it's a child's hair-- how much would you need to be paid to cut hair on a small, restless, crying person? I think the prices are very reasonable. And the shop isn't dirty, it's just modestly decorated. It's not a glitzy place to go, but it's very good.

I think the only time the two ladies that were there made eye contact was when I walked in and when they asked me to pay. I had read other reviews and decided to give it a try. I think the place has a lot of potential, but there is "something" missing. The haircut for my daughter was quick and I paid about $15...I think I would expect her to work her scissors a bit more for $15 but I guess it's OK for a 22-month old moving target. I thought it could be a good place to come if I'm in a hurry and can't get to my favorite haircut place UNTIL ...after I paid and gave her tip...there were no other customers so the ladies focused their attention on the local news on the TV..talking amongst themselves. I thought it was so rude, I'm never going back. They didn't offer my daughter a treat (e.g. lollipop or sticker), didn't send us off with a "goodbye, come back and see us" that you usually get from other places.

For the price, I thought it would be A LOT nicer inside. The place was UGLY. There were no toys, it was a little dirty, no color, blah.
I will say Ruth was very nice, but the owners need to update their establishment, especially if they want to charge $18 for a haircut. They also need a receptionist. The hairdresser answered the phone the whole time. It took us an hour to get out of there!
