My 5 year old daughter was given immunization shots last Friday. The nurse gave 4 immunization shots, but according to their records, the nurse gave a fifth shot which was a TB skin test. The TB skin test should be just a little bubble on her forearm. As I know exactly what it looks like and how it is done, I know that one wasn't done.
However, 4 days later, when asking a nurse to fill out a school form, they suggested that we missed the appointment to bring my daughter in for a TB reading. They insisted that they had done a TB skin test. Fearing the worst, I suggested that either A) they made a mistake on the record, and the test hadn't been given, or B) that they mistakenly gave the TB test as a shot.
Of course, instead of answering my question regarding what were the potential side-effects of such a mistake, the nurse chose to instead ridicule my use of "intra-venous" shot versus "intra-muscular".
They have as yet to respond to me in regards to what the potential side-effects are.

I have been very pleased with the services here for my daughter. The wait times have never been too long and if you arrive by 8am for the walk-in visits, you get seen pretty quickly. Dr. Downes is great and so is Dr. Stenbeck. My two favorites.

I wish I had something good to say about the doctors but we never got to see one. My sick two-year-old son (fever over 103) and I were refused treatment at the clinic since he was not an "established" patient. We came in during their open hours (8 – 9 am) designed for walk-ins for sick children but I was told that the privilege to see a doctor without an appointment is for current patients and not for new patients. I explained that the doctor is within our insurance network and even offered to pay cash for the visit but the nurse would not budge, rudely dismissed us and turned my sick boy away. Her explanation was that the paperwork takes too long to process. The doctor would not see us unless we scheduled an appointment for a much later time. Last I checked health care providers were supposed to look after the well being of patients (yes even the new ones) and not the inconvenience of processing paper work. We just recently moved to the area and this was a very unpleasant experience. I don't believe that the treatment we received was ethical and would not recommend the clinic.

My son's regular pediatrician at Irvine Pediatrics is Dr. Tse and he has seen a few of the other doctors there too - they all give great service and the staff too. I appreciate the separate well and sick waiting rooms in both of their office locations in the same building.

I can't even tell you how fabulous Dr. Gan is. She is always great with the kids, very knowledgeable, and honest. The best part is she is she is the mother of three and realistic when she gives you directions, ideas, information. When ever the kids get sick, she is always available, even though she works part time! I think only once have I had to see a different dr. and we've been going there for 5 years with 3 different kids. I see her more than I see my friends sometimes. She also does ear piercing, so I never had to take my girls to that place in the mall! I also really love that they are open on Saturday mornings. The wait is usually not to bad if you have an appointment.
