This is a good investment because you can use it for a long time. Its sturdy but light and the cloth can be removed easily for washing. Both my newborn and 2 year old love it. I find it so useful that I bought another one to leave in grandma's home so whenever we visit we can use it either for the infant or the toddler.

We have used this since my son was newborn and he still uses it at 15 months. As a newborn, he seemed so tiny in it, but he was smaller than average, but he was still secure and happy in it. We bought a 2nd one at Once Upon A Child for $5 to have at grandma's! We even used bungees to affix it to a kitchen chair with arms so he could eat at the table when we visited there...it was very secure and he loves it. Now he climbs into it and sits...when he sits still!

I bought this because toddlers can use it too. She loves the chair, but without the bar - when she rocks herself (or we rock her) the toys would scare her as they swing towards her face. It was also difficult to put her in and take her out of the seat with the bar installed.

Another item I simply could not live without. My daught and my son slept in this for the first 4 months. They needed to be elevated for reflux. Great calming with the vibrator.
It's great as toddlers too!
