I had a really terrible experience with the lactation consultants at Great Expectations! I found them to be very unprofessional and they really stressed me out when I was already a sleep-deprived mess! I ended up spending a lot of money on multiple consultations and I still had problems breastfeeding. As a last ditch effort, I made an appointment at Day One and all my questions and fears were answered in a stress-free, supportive 1 hour session. If only I had gone there first!

I met with Octavia 3 times and was so disappointed in the service. Lack of follow up, really long times to receive prescriptions, etc.

Great Expectations is housed at UCSF's Women's Health. In addition to a store and lending library, they host classes on a broad range of subjects. The lactation consultants are warm, knowledgeable, and suportive without being dogmatic.
