When we got in the car after my son's last visit with Dr. Paul Simons at Forest Park Pediatrice, my husband looked at me and said, "Yes, I remember why we drive 100 miles to see him." We do have a local pediatrician, but we have seen Dr. Simons for my son's many special problems for years, now, making the trip between St. Louis and Southern Illinois a couple of times a year. There are no words to say what it has meant to us many times. His knowledge and experience, his kindness, his understanding of our concerns and his immediate attention to our sons needs have been such a gift in raising a child with Down Syndrome and Autism.
On two occassions when our son was critically ill in Children's Hospital, Dr. Simons was our advocate, there for us every day in a frightening and out of control situation. He was confident and respected by the staff and he was sympathetic to our situation. He could not be more accessible to us if his office were just down the block. I can never say thank you enough.

My children have been patients of Dr. Margaret Schmnandt since 1996, when my first child was born. She is a very well known doctor thoroughout Children's Hospital and Emergency Rooms. She is so knowledgable and the nursing staff have always been helpful when calling for advice or any area of well-being of my children. If Dr. Schmandt is not available to see my children, we are seen by another doctor in the group, all of whom are wonderful. You can't go wrong with a group who is affiliated with Children's Hospital and Washington University!!

This office is friendly and well staffed. We normally see Dr Ruby and she is wonderful. As a mother of young children, she understands your concerns. We've seen Dr Wolff and Dr Schmandt as well with no complaints.
Late in the day the office can be packed, but in the mornings and mid afternoons have very short wait times. Wait times on the phone can be a little long at times, but the nurses will answer your questions and honestly help you determine if your child should come in.
One caveat that I have is to not be late to an appointment. They will not take late comers. You must reschedule or wait until they have an opening- I have seen it happen the are not kidding.
It's not uncommon for you to be randomly selected to be asked to join studies. They do not push you joining, but they will give you the information and who to call if you're interested.

This practice is efficient and the staff is knowledgeable. After joining a different practice when my first daughter was born I was pleasantly surprised when we switched as my second daughter was born. Dr. Ruby-Zeigler is excellent.

the pediatrician i interviewed here had a very cold personality. the lobby was not that warm either - in terms of appearance. i waited a long time. i didn't go back.
