Very comfortable for back carries. As a front carrier, there are others I like better such as the Beco or Yamo. It is a bit bulky but still much more comfortable and supportive than a baby bjorn or similar.

i like this carrier in that i can carry my baby in it without straining my back. i had problems with the baby bjorn active putting too much strain on my mid-back. the only drawback of this carrier is that it is really difficult to put on if you don't have help. also the baby can only face in (bad if your baby gets antsy like mine). also it is a pricy. some of my friends LOVE this carrier and can put their babies to sleep in it. i would recommend this carrier for petite moms when their babies get to about 15 lbs

i usually don't like carriers where the baby is dangling, but this carrier is so comfy. i prefer carriers over strollers. my daughter cries less when i wear her around rather than push her around in a stroller.

As a seasoned baby wearer of three years, I have tried many carriers (maya wrap, baby bjorn, ergo, mei tai). Some I like and some I love. This is definitely a love story. I am the type of person that prefers to wear my baby rather than use a stroller. My kids seemed fussy in a stroller so I have been on the look out for a baby carrier that I can use around the house, mall, park and pretty much anywhere and go the distance and wear my baby for a few hours if necessary. That carrier is the Ergo for me. I love the wide straps and do not feel any pain with my 22 lbs nine month old. It is easy on and off in the front position. I still need help putting my baby in the back position but overall I love this carrier.

I used the Baby Bjorn until a fellow mommy noticed me stretching my back and had me try her Ergo. Boy what a difference!! Not only did my back go from painful aching to not being able to feel my baby's weight, I could nurse comfortably and discreetly without anyone being able to tell! THe hoodie is great for screening out sun and rain (and making nursing non-noticeable) and the Ergo adjust SO easily it fits my husband or I with some minor adjustments. Best yet, whe my baby falls asleep, the Ergo comes off so that I can lay him down without distrubing him - BONUS! My only complaint would be that, noe that my baby wants to see EVERYTHING, he wants to face forward and thus I have to put him on my back - I wish there was a way he could face forward being carried on my front.
