My daughter has had Dr. Beesley all her life and I couldn't be happier ... he always takes the time to answer my questions and his front office people have always been good to me... the wait is a bit long but he makes up for it with the attention towards my daughter....

My daughter has had DR Beesley her entire 15yrs as her doctor. HE is amazing..we drive from Burbank to see him. I can tell you that he does have lots of patients but that is because he has been around forever and is just THAT GOOD! I have a hard time going elsewhere.

This doctor is always busy, he is overloaded with patients, and the reception people will not let you be seen by the doctor, they act as screeners and tell you what to do, what to give the baby etc, even though they are not doctors, . My daughter has fever since friday, we had to take her to the emergency room, fever is controlled, but still ongoing, I tried calling the doctor today so that we could be seen, I was told we can not be seen, they were booked for the day, I told them the baby has fever and they asked me what was the temperature, I said the thermometer I have gives me different readings, I was told to buy a new thermometer. Not the first time I have been turned away. He might be a good doctor, but what good is if he can not handle the patients he has. Another time, the baby had diarrhea, same situation, could not be seen, if situation worsened i was recommended to go to the emergency room, by the reception. My reccomendation, Avoid this doctor. I wish I had done more interviews before choosing him as my son's first pediatrician. He was strangely unsupportive of breastfeeding--annoyed that I wasn't using a pacifier in the first couple of weeks, thought I needed to stop nursing when I got an infection (the reverse is true, it helps to keep nursing!), seemed frankly uninformed about the risk of thrush when I was on antibiotics and nursing--finally, when he told me my 4 month old was overweight and might need to go on solids early (despite food allergies in the family) I switched to a new doctor, whose first remark was that my baby must be breastfed because they tend to be extra chubby until 6 months and it evens out over time, not to worry (and she was right). He generally seemed very dismissive--I think he regarded me as an "attachment parent" and he mentioned he finds them annoying. I don't really categorize myself that way. Looking back on it all, Dr Beesley was pretty dreadful. And funnily enough, one of my best mom friends--who is a nurse herself--had a similar reaction (before we met) and also switched drs.

I was referred to Dr. Beesley by my obgyn. He is a great Dr. and very good with children and has great interaction. Getting an appointment is not so great. I am use to making the appointment at the Docs office. Both times I have had to instead call in which to me makes no sense. Their appointments are always "booked" and so it takes a month to see the doc. Not so good if you want your baby to have their shots and physical at the appropriate time. Also the wait time at the office is not so great! It takes a long time until they call you. The nurses are very freindly though and if it weren't for the fact that he is a great doctor, I would definitely switch docs due to lack of scheduling organization.
