"the word-of-mouth survival guide for SAN FRANCISCO parents"

I used a diaper champ for prefold cloth diapers. Sometimes they went down and other times they didn't but when they were poopy then sometimes poop would smear in the chute.
Personally, after having 3 children, I would just go with a step-can garbage can. They usually can fit into spaces better and can be reused for the garage or laundry room after you aren't diapering anymore.

We never had a problem with smelly diapers. We kept it in our kitchen next to the garbage can. It doesn't take up a lot of room and we loved the idea that it uses regular plastic bags.

We use this all the time and haven't had a problem with smells escaping. Sometimes the lever that flips the diapers gets stuck and you have to jiggle it alot to get it to flip. This usually happens when the bag is getting full. Also, sometimes the wipes don't flip and fall out the top. Grodie. We've learned that you have to wrap the wipes inside the dirty diapers before flipping the lever. We like that you can use any bags.

It does the job well, disposing of odors and I love that you don't have to buy any cartridges, you can use any bag saving me tons of money! In my experience, works just as well as the Diaper Genie and less expensive!

yes, it takes any bags which saves you money....but still stinks. Had to always throw out the stinky diapers in garage garbage. So we hardly used this and sold it.
