My baby wouldn't stay still in one of the classes I took and I had to step out. The staff let me browse the store for an hour and use the rockers etc. Made me feel very comfortable.

As a 1st time mom, I was desperate to find something to do where I could get out of the house and take the baby! Day One Center offered a safe, educational, fun and social experience for both myself and my newborn. The daily workshops and great array of classes are a godsend! The Staff is knowledgable and the store and library are a great resource.

There are a few places like this, but this one seems to have the most complete selection. Haven't taken a class yet, but definately will be back.

seriously, if there's a place to go as a new mom, it's DayOne. They have classes, a library, doulas and lactation consultants, groups, cool products. It totally provides a fun interactive place for new parents.

DayOne is the backbone and safety net for women whose families don't live close and need support from fellow new-moms. This place has been a life saver, and I've met some amazing women at this place who are going through the same first time parent issues that I am experiencing. The retail section is a great place for nursing supplies, but does not really offer too much in terms of gear, supplies or toys.
