I would rate them a zero if I could, so the one star is just a placeholder. This agency is ethically challenged and places au pairs who are poorly screened into homes. Once you pay the money you're stuck, and good luck getting it back. The customer service is miserable and people do not return calls, do not call when they say they will to help you through a disastrous situation. Do NOT use this agency. After I finish this I will be filing a complaint with the BBB, but I want to get the word out soonest.

This agency does not provide good customer service to its host families or their au pairs. They also do not screen the au pairs properly. If you don't believe me, and I am a host mom who used them only once (and then I ran like the wind) go to the consumer site, aupairclearinghouse.com, and read their recent news article on the top three leaders - Cultural Care was removed from this list due to poor customer service and poor screening of au pairs. DO NOT USE THEM. Also, read the complaints on insiderpages.com and complaintsboard.com

I have had 2 different au pairs though Cultural Care - one from Thailand and one from Brazil, and my experiences have both been very positive. It was an adjustment to have a "new family member," living in our home, but the benefits far outweigh the drawbacks! Cultural Care has the largest selection of au pairs, and they worked with me until we found someone whom my husband and I felt comfortable with. It is important to ask lots of questions in the interview process and to READ THE CONTRACT! I anticipate having au pairs in our home for many years to come!

My experience with Cultural Care au pairs has been delightful. The company has been around for 20 years they are doing things well. They have fantastic local support.

Don't put your children in harms way.
Although they claim they comply with the basic procedures stated by the US Department of Labor, Cultural Care will not go far when it comes to standards in their screening process. Candidates abroad can and will lie in their applications just to get a foot in the States.
Once in the States, problematic candidates will get recycled and go from host family to host family. Cultural Care will hide information from you regarding previous families and their contact information, whether you request this or not at the time of selecting the candidate.
Watch out for these money predators that paint the prettiest picture and will use your children as a gateway to your pockets. Watch for money predators that don’t care if your children are endangered or get hurt.
