QuoteI had been going to this practice for three years with my two children and saw doctors come and go and waiting times increase incredibly. The final straw was when I called to get a referral name for a psychologist. They insisted that my child come in and be "seen" before giving out the name. After waiting over an hour (with appointment) the doctor talked to me only and never even needed to see my child and finally gave me the name. What a colossal waste of time.

QuoteWe loved loved loved Dr. Brown. However, there are so many negatives at this practice. There appears to be a high turnover rate for the nurses. A new nurse tried to give my son the wrong shot....I was the one who spotted the error. The front office staff is clueless and rude....they made an incorrect unauthorized charge to my debit card. It took several days to sort it out with them. The waiting time is ridiculous. We waited for more than 60 minutes to see the doctor (yes, we had an appointment). Then it took more than 20 mins for the nurses to administer the shots after seeing the doc. Ridiculous when you have a 6 month old! Today I called to make an appointment ASAP for my sick son. They put me on hold and several minutes later I was disconnected. I called back and received a message that they were at lunch for an hour! This office is horrendous. I am going to try Iravani who opened her own practice (since I did like the doctors). Bottom line: my son was not getting the best care out there. Coastal Kids should be ashamed of themselves.

QuoteI agree about feeling like a number. It is not that the Dr.s are not knowledgeable, but there is something to say for bedside manner. Dr. Iravani was the only reason I stayed, she was great and always took the time to address my concerns. Then she left and they would not tell me where she went. I finally found out that she opened her own practice close to Hoag called Total Pediatrics http://www.totalpediatricsofoc.com/TPOC.pdf her number is (949) 515-7337 if anyone is also curious what happened to Dr. Iravani.

QuoteI called in a multi-vitamin Rx refill to the pharmacy for 1 of my triplets. They had to fax to the MD for approval. Coastal Kids has a $10 fee for Rx approvals (which is fine). I was charged $30 ($10 each). When I received my bill, I called and explained what had happened and requested to have them write off $20 for the inconvenience. When I went in for the triplets 3 year well check, the front office wouldn't let me see Dr. Abelowitz without paying the past due $20. I again explained what happened. They apologized for the mis-communication, but held firm on the $20. I had to load up the kids and go to the ATM to get $20 (which I still feel was not my responsibility). If you've ever been to this office, you know the parking situation and how crazy it is trying to get 3- 3 year olds through to and from your car.

QuoteVery knowledgeable, and the doctors ALWAYS err on the side of caution.
