Deborah James is the covering physician for my own doctor. Her relationship with my doctor (and my child) is great. Had we met her first, we might have joined her practice, only because we have a daughter and liked the idea of her having a female doctor. Still, we've had a relationship with Dr. James since our daughter's birth, and despite our not being formally in her practice, she is generous with time and advice. Just recently, when she was the on-call doctor overnight, she allayed my concerns about a playground tumble my daughter took. She then patiently answered some completely irrelevant questions about mosquitos and West Nile Virus. She showed the same kind of care when she was covering Saturday sick hours and my daughter took ill. Other patients can't say enough about her care. Her nurse's assistant, Verna, is equally generous, and talked me through a "terrific two" tantrum.
