When I was in college, Dr. Jones was the campus physician. I really did NOT like him because he told me some things that I did not want to hear. Those things I did not want to hear, saved my life. Several years later I was married, pregnant and looking for a baby doctor and saw he had started a practice so I went to see him. Same outspoken man I knew in college that saved my life. Needless to say, he became my daughter's doctor.
At that time CMG was only open a couple of years so it was a small group of doctors. It is a much larger practice today and if you want a doctor that knows his stuff and is not there to tell you what you want to hear, Dr. Jones is your doctor! My daughter, now 19, and I still see him. He is an amazing man and a great doctor.
Over the years we have probably seen most of the doctors there and while we might not have matched personality wise, I was not there to make friends. I was there to get the best medical care, which is what I received. I never hesitate to contact Dr. Jones or Kathy if I really need the advice. I trust him with my life and my daughter's life and will continue to do so as long as he will let me!

I am changing my review since my latest experience with the reception people was a huge improvement. The person on the phone was patient and helpful even though I had many questions. Later when I walked into the office there was a long line but three people worked very fast. Thank you!

My kids have been with Capitol Medical Group for years, even after the office moved several miles away from my house. I have thought about changing for convenience but so far have not. The group includes many excellent doctors - I have seen most of them over the years. This means I can always get care when we need it, although it is true that the office is big and you are a number as far as the front staff are concerned (and many of the nurses - i actually am not impressed by their manner toward the children, contrary to the doctors.) The main thing is to find a couple of doctors that you like and try to see them whenever possible. My favorites are Finkelstein, Shearrin and Snow. The after-hours assistance is also helpful although at least one of the nurse-practitioners I found to be brusque and, basically, not nice, when I was in a vulnerable state trying to deal with a new baby and some breast-feeding issues (I think that's what it was - just remember I was turned off.) Since then I have never had an issue.

The group was more than helpful when we were not getting any response from the practice where our children are (were) patients. Because of the possible severity, they saw us on the day we called and were great!

Did you EVER think a practice could dismiss your child? How about dismiss your child because of a billing issue? Better yet, a billing issue that was beyond your control?
Well, believe it! What happened to the Hippocratic Oath on the ethical practice of medicine? It's definitely missing from Dr. Jones'practice. My son was a patient at CMG since he was a baby. I share in other opinions that the office was extremely disorganized. But like others, I was there for the care - not the office. Still, after 10 years of dealing with extreme rudeness from the Business Office, the breaking point was when they refused to assist me in providing information to my insurance company. Beware of Dori and Joan who run the business office and manipulate the entire setup.
