QuoteMy husband and I are so glad that we took the time (and spent the money) on the 12 weeks of Bradley classes. We had a great local instructor and were glad that it introduced us to other area couples due around the same time. The classes were so informative that we both felt very confident about our options and the process. We wanted a natural birth with no IV, no epi, and unnecessary medical interventions, and that is exactly what we got. Not that the class works miracles, but I am positive that the extra knowledge and preparedness, and confidence we both had in my husband coaching and supporting me made all the difference. I recomemend these classes even for those who choose to have pain medications/c-sections because the information is great and all complications and medications are discussed in case you need to choose/have some when the time comes. The class emphasizes informed decision making, not just natural birth. My husband and I both loved it!

QuoteI'd recommend this class for any couple not wanting to assume that an epidural or a c-section is a normal way to have a baby. I recommend taking this class in earlier in your pregnancy rather than later as it is 12 weeks (some instructors shorten it to 9) and some of the material covered is more applicable in earlier weeks of gestation. My husband and I took the Bradley method classes and loved that it emphasized husband coached childbirth. Birth is a natural process and this class gave us many tools and techniques to take into our hospital birth. As far as the other reviewer's, well, has that reviewer or her OB ever taken this class? The 'unnecessary complications' are likely due to the couple not taking everything the hospital says as gospel. They're the 'experts' after all!
