Carrie Kenner, owner of Big Belly Services is someone I have known for 4 years in many different contexts. Initially she trained me to be a Doula, and then helped me navigate some local Doula networking groups. Later when pregnant with my daughter she was my Childbirth Education teacher. I cannot imagine not having taken her class. Even though I myself am a doula, I learned so much about myself, what I wanted out of such a transformative experience, and yet again was a model of the type of Doula I strive to be for my clients. Carrie was also my Doula, present throughout my labor and daughters birth. She was right there when I needed support, but hands off and "in my ear" always reminding me of how well I was doing when I (so) needed that. My labor and daughter's birth went in a very different direction than I had envisioned, but carrie's class and support helped me to find ways to view the experience as empowering and positive. I truly cannot say enough good things about her. She also brought me some food postpartum, which was SO helpful for me!
