We came home yesterday, bringing home my first child, our daughter. The nurses and staff were excellent-- the best I have experienced in my life! That goes for the delivery suite personal to the nurses that cared for us after we moved to our room. The lactation department was amazing! They came by twice a day and by demand when I rang for them. The demonstrated with my baby and my breasts, and got us off to a great and successful start!

I didnt like the lactation specialist I had nor my best friend whom I was with thru the whole birth.. I did Kangaroo care with my second child and that was awesome!!!! I will do it again and again ... if I even have that many .. But lactation lacked PATIENCE ... I was new to breast feeding .. and in pain .. the same thing with my god daughter they werent patient with mom or baby ... and really rough ... not a good thing for a new mom to see!!

I really think they sucked. I was hurting a lot and called them and I had to wait a week to get seen. Then they would call me and say do this or that and then call us. I did as they said and it still hurt and called back and same thing. It was as though they didn't really want to help me. I went to the WIC office in st. pete and they found out that my son was tongue tied.

I had an amazing experience while at Bayfront Medical Center. The Kangaroo Care program helped create a supportive, nurturing, & caring environment for breastfeeding. I felt very comfortable with the nurses there and received excellent advice and help with nursing. I also would like to add how thankful I am for the lactation services program. My son is now 4 months old and we've just recently run into some problems with mastitis/clogged ducts. I made one phone call to 893-6775 and got a call back promptly! I felt very confident in the advice I received. Thank you so much :-)

during my 29 1/2 hour labor, all my nurses were attentive and made me feel very special. the suite was beautiful, private and comfortable. while staying three days after my baby was born, the nurses were just as wonderful. Lactation Services responded to my request for Kangaroo Care and demonstrated patience while Eva and I got used to eachother. The LS nurses eased my fears and helped me overcome small challenges. The Kangaroo care helped me bond with my baby as a priority and I will definitly do it with my next child.
