QuoteLiked other groups better. This group is not organized at all, just a bunch of people in the same room w/nothing planned and no structure. A good way to meet other moms, but you have to feel comfortable going up to strangers and asking "Can I sit with you?" And, there's a charge and I don't think you get much in return other than coffee and a bad bagel.

QuoteMy husband and i took the prepared childbirth series - it left us COMPLETELY unprepared for childbirth! It left us prepared to go to the hospital as soon as we felt contractions, and get ready to be hooked up to an IV, machines, and get your epidural. There was NOTHING about natural childbirth. The teacher actually said "you'll get your epidural, and then you won't feel another contraction until your next baby" as if that was a GREAT thing! We ended upo taking classes at the Maternal Wellness Centrer JUST in time! Delivering at Virtua was great - the nurses were wonderful, and the rooms are great - it was like staying at a hotel!

QuoteI had my daughter at Virtua in Voorhees and I took several parenting classes at the Barry D. Brown education center prior to and immediately after her birth. Moms really need to check the Website because classes are either hit or miss, based on interest, topic and instructor. I found some of the classes such as prenatal classes and labor and delivery classes to be dry and delivered in a robotic-like manner by physicians. Mommy & Me Mornings are great though and its a great way for new Moms in the area to come out with their new babies and meet others to discuss healing from delivery, adjusting to parenthood, feeding, etc. Overall, Virtua offers a host of events and seminars that cater to new and expectant parents and the events calendar is definitely worth browsing at https://physicianlocator.virtua.org/sfnasp/servicesearch.asp
