QuoteI hope people realize that there are so many other ways to carry your baby that cradles them as if you were holding them !And you can use it from day one! Also be aware that at some point when your baby is in the face forward position you need to keep an eye out for blue legs! The carrier starts to cut off circulation in the inner leg area. And it's just not that comfy for little newborns! Try a sling! There's a great store" Hip Mama Couture",( mom owned) where the owner will show you all of her personal favorites and demonstrate them til you feel empowered! And gives coaching forever! Before you add a carrier to your shower list check out all the options that are available.

QuoteI was only able to use any kind of Baby Bjorn with my infant for a very short time. The carrier places a lot of stress on the shoulder area. There are much better carriers available useful for a much longer time. In fact, I am still able to wear my now toddler (31 mos) in a Beco and Ergo carrier.

QuoteGot this carrier from my Mother as a shower gift, and I used it as soon as my daughter was able to sit in it. This carrier was fabulous! I could go on with my daily stuff (vacuuming etc.) and my daughter loved sitting in it (until she got to heavy around 1 1/2). Whenever I took it out, she got so exited and couldn't wait to get in. I sometimes had to hide it from her :) I would recommend this carrier in a heartbeat. It also has great back support.

QuoteI discovered the joys of the Bjorn when my daughter was just under three weeks old (and finally met the 8-lb weight requirement.) At that point, it seemed miraculous to be able to hold her and have my hands free. We kept using it until she was almost a year and a half -- she adored looking at people from eye level and I loved being able to talk to her and kiss her head. It worked amazingly well and stood up to daily use. I'd recommend it in a heartbeat.
