"the word-of-mouth survival guide for DETROIT parents"

PLUSES: the facilities are huge and have an enormous amount of props for children to try. If your kid is outgoing, this will be great, mine is so that was my favorite part. It is near my house, which is key when you have a busy schedule.
MINUSES: even though we were registered, we weren't on the list when we arrived, first sign of their lack of organization.
The class itself is also very disorganized: toddlers run around aimlessly most of the time, with you chasing after them guessing what the rules of this place may be. There is no new-member orientation at all. Hearing some moms say some rules, then hearing the teachers say different rules.
Crowded: too many kids for the teachers who hardly have any chance to explain anything and why it's done a certain way (like why not to run here, or jump there, or how to take turns, etc.) Let alone time to hold a kid's hand through something more complicated where they would actually learn something new about their body. It's pretty much you and your kid in an environment more conducive to gymnastics than the playground. Also, kids are at very different levels, really slow and tentative kids with fast, agile daredevils, they should test and split them for better learning and enjoyment.
Dirty: this place could use some regular scrubbing...
Worth trying out 'cause all kids are different and we all have different comfort zones. We might stick with it for a month in the summer, then look for a better place.

I would recommend waiting until your kids are 3 to take a class here. Overall the kids have fun, but they are just running around on the mats. There is little to no instruction for the under 3 crowd. Seems like a way for the owners to bring in some extra income during off hours.

I'ts fun, but if your kid is young, you would be better off just playing at your house with a new toy.

This is more of a hard core gymnast studio. They offer toddler classes, but the kids just kind of run around on the maps. There is no really much in the way of instruction for the 3 and under set. Not sure it adds a lot of value other than burning off some energy. Parking can be tough.
