These have lasted through three children and still going strong. If you no how to take care of your stuff these could last forever.

We had a set of Fisher Price monitors for our new baby and so did our neighbors. They could hear us and we could hear them. Our model had only two channels. We decided to go with the Sony monitors and have had no problems with them.

This set of monitors in on a second child with us and has worked well through the four years we have had it. It does, as others have mentioned, eat through batteries, but we don't use it outside too much, so this is limited for us. However, it gives little static and is clear in sound delivery. Ours has two receivers for use in different areas of the house without moving the monitor.
