I am in the same boat.  My son is 7 months old and still waking up for a bottle at 3:30 am every night.  I've heard the suggestion to give him 6 oz at 5p, then a bath and then another 6 oz at 7p.  worked for them but I still haven't had any luck.  Hope you get some good responses...i could use them too.

I have twin 14 month old boys. When they were 8 months old they were still waking up wanting to nurse at 3am every night. Very exhausting as I'm sure you know. Our pediatrican suggested that instead of nursing them to offer 4 oz of water in a bottle or sippy cup the first night. offer 3 oz the second night....then offer 2 oz the third night....he said by the fourth night offer nothing "if" they wake up. Well I have to tell you....this worked for my boys. By the fourth night neither of them woke up and have been sleeping through the night ever since. They go to bed at 630p every night and wake up at 7am. Since every baby is different...I have also gotten some great suggestions from reading this book: Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child by Marc Weissbluth. What I like about the book is that you don't have to read the whole thing - you can skip to the chapters and/or sleep problems that apply to your children. His book helped me get naps into place and I am now a firm believer in "sleep begets sleep." If they take good naps during the day then they will sleep through the night also. I hope this helps you...
