I need some help finding this mythical thing called affordable infant care!

I'm a full time legal assistant in Seattle.  My boyfriend/fiance and I make about 2500 a month...and as of right now, every day care I've looked at is going to run us at least a grand of that.  Plus rent, bills...and we're trying to save for a down payment on a house!

I sincerely LOVE my job but I'm really thinking I may need to give it up in order to do what's financially right for my family.

Any suggestions or resources would be very much appreciated.  This is my first child, so I don't even really know where to go and I feel like all the research I HAVE done has been little more than spinning my wheels.

Thanks!

Shara

Hey Shara,

I would have to say good luck on this one unfortunately. I paid over $1K a month for my childcare and I made $2,500 if not less. It was VERY, VERY hard. It's hard to find quality care. My son goes to Great Beginnings in Kent and it's wonderful - you may want to check with them on prices but sadly daycare is outrageous these days.
