I am searching for a great preschool for my little boy who will be three in May.  I want to start something in the fall.  Anyways, Im looking for advice on different schools.  Does anyone have experience (or recommendations) with any preschools in Newport Beach/Costa Mesa?  If so, please tell me a little about it.  With so may schools to choose from, its hard to get a idea of what are considered the better schools of the area.  Any help, advice or guidance is greatly appreciated!

This is a great time to start as some of the best schools have long waiting lists.  I used a book called "The Mommy Tree': Preschool Tour Guide" which is an overview of the best schools in Orange County.  It is a really easy to use guide and it details some of the important issues parents need to know before even setting your foot into the school.  At the top of each school page there is a breakdown of the preschool in terms of the hours of operation, if lunch and snack are provided, if the child needs to be potty trained and at what age, if the school offers extra curricular activities, and a lot more.  Then under that box is a paragraph on the school.  The authors personally toured each school and are giving parents a first step in your preschool search.  If you want more information their website is www.themommytree.com and they have an expert section where you can ask questions directly to the authors, a pediatrician, allergist, health expert and tons more.  Hope your search goes well.
