Hi everyone! Even though this is not my first breastfeeding experience this is the first time I have had to deal with biting.  My eight month old has been biting everything! The most painful biting has been during breastfeeding, one minute he's nursing and the next thing I know he bites me. I've responded with a loud "ouch", and "no biting mommy". These responses make him cry. It seems to be occuring less often but I am curious if anyone has any other tips. Thanks

I have never had this problem, but a friend of mine was told by her LC (and this is going to be hard) to not respond verbally. Either a positive (some moms laugh or smile if it isn't painful) or negative response (like saying no! or ouch!) from you may initiate the whole cause and effect game.

She was told just to pull him off the breast gently when her son did this and to let him relatch again when he wasn't trying to clamp down. Good luck!
