Hi,

My daughter's pediatrician is great.  They're in Glendale but it's kinda close to pasadena.  So, depending on if you want to travel to Glendale the name is Glendale Pediatrics.  Everyone there is fantastic!  They were referred to me by a friend after I had bad luck with 2 pediatricians in the past.  My daughters pediatrician is Dr. Bursh, but the others are just as good.

Good luck!

Hi,

Not sure if you checked out this dr yet but since then things have happened and I now DO NOT reccommend him for your child, or any for that matter.  I brought my child in for her vaccinations and told dr. bursh that i wanted to space out her shots because she's been on medication for reflux and has other gastric issues.  This set the dr. off and he started raising his voice at me about how vaccines are soo important.  I wasnt saying that they're not important, I just wanted to space them out a little because she was to get 7 vaccinations at once.  Dr. Bursh got loud and said he's tired everyone is listening to Jenny McCarthy instead of him.  I thought this was an insult because I never mentioned Jenny McCarthy.  I told him that she had a reaction the first round of shots, which is why I was cautious.  He basically brushed it off and continued to belittle me.

To make a long story short, he basically bullied me into giving her all of her shots at once. The day she got her shots my daughters arm and leg started jerking uncontrollably, and has been since then.  It's been about 2 weeks now.  I mentioned it to the dr. and he was quick to say that it was not the vaccination.  He, again, got loud and said he will never believe it or me on this issue.  But, upon research, it says that one of the side effects from the Dtap shot is jerking and seizures.  It also says if your child has had a reaction with the first round of dtap shot he/she shouldnt get another one.

Nobody should feel this way when taking their child to a pediatrician.  I am currently in the process of looking for another pediatrician.  One that cares about not only the child, but also the parents concerns.

So, if you, or anyone knows of a good pediatrician in the Glendale/Pasadena/San Gabriel area, please let me know.

Thanks!

we're pregnant with our first child and my obgyn has referred me to her pediatrician, dr dan scaff. he's located on green street. we have yet to make an appointment with him, so i don't want to say if he's great or not. but my obgyn refers all her patients to him and there hasn't been a problem. she says the office staff are friendly and respond timely to a call, etc. we'll probably give him a ring in the next few months and get an appointment with him on the books. good luck and let me know if you ever do find a good pediatrician.

I'm so sorry you had such a bad experience with Dr. Bursh! That's awful! He's my daughter's pediatrician and it makes me think twice about going back. I can't believe he was so insensitive and condescending.
