Hi Moms

My son and I are visiting your area next week. We'll be staying in Oceanside, visiting Legoland and the Zoo. WE'd love any advice you have for an out of towner. Also if there are any nice parks in the cities around Legodland, I'd love to hear about them. do you all have local parks with splash pads or free water activities for the kids? Any nice local pools/indoor pools with fun kid stuff. Are there any factories that give tours, my son likes things like that. Just anything that is "neat" to the carlsbad, vista, oceanside or surrounding areas would be wonderful to hear about.

Thanks (dallas, TX)

i was looking at the Go san diego cards that have lots of entertainment in one card. they sound nice but then you have to pay to park at everything vs purchasing a season pass. is there anywhere free to park and walk around legoland or the zoo and wild animal park?

Parking at the Zoo is free, and it's in the middle of Balboa Park (near downtown San Diego), which is full of museums that your son may enjoy.  You may have to pay to get into the museums, though.  Parking at the WAP (in Escondido) is only about $8, and there's a water play area in the Park.  I don't live near Oceanside, so I'm afraid I can't help with anything in that area.  Have a great visit!

I recommend staying in a san diego rental because it is a lot more affordable than the hotels in the area.  And sea world cannot be missed!
