A friend of mine has been struggling with post-partum anxiety since she gave birth to her daughter almost two years ago. It got so bad that at one point she went on the drug Lexapro to manage her anxiety and the medication helped her immensely. However, she and her husband have been thinking about trying for number two so she went off her medication. She began suffering from severe anxiety again and ultimately decided to go back on her medication. Hey psychiatrist assures her that there are medications that she can be on while she's pregnant (I think she said Prozac) and another that she can be on while she's nursing that will be safe for the baby. I know she is still struggling with the concept of being on any sort of medication while she is pregnant or nursing. If you have any experience with this topic, can you please share it here? Thanks!
